Is the amount of a component product reported in parts or volume units (ie. fluid ounces, quarts or gallons)? If so, the percent volume can be determined using the below calculation:

1. First, find the total volume or number of parts in the overall product.

2. Divide the volume or number of parts reported for the component by the total for the overall product as shown in the example below:

Ex. For coating X mix 2 parts of A with 1 parts of B.

1. Total # of parts = 2 +1 = 3

2. % Volume of part A = ⅔ = 66.7%

% Volume of part B = ⅓ = 33.3%
